Windows 2000/XP QuickMap registry permission problems
QuickMap displays the message QuickMap cannot read the registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\QuickMap. See your administrator for access to registry key HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\QuickMap How do I fix it?.

Quickmap needs to be able to read and write to the registry in order to run. If this message is displayed, then usually it is because QuickMap has been run using a restricted account. Log onto your computer as an administrator.

To see if you are logged on to Windows 2000/XP as an administrator

1.  Click Start -> Run.

2. Type the command for your operating system.

In Windows XP, type:

control userpasswords2

In  Windows 2000, type:

control userpasswords

3 Click OK

4 Look at the User Accounts box that is displayed.
