Google Earth

Google, Inc. provides three product levels to Google Earth, which you should investigate before using Google Earth with QuickMap overlays. For the most timely and complete Google Earth licensing options, please consult Google's website and license agreement at http://earth.google.com/downloads.html

Please choose the Google Earth product that meets your organisation's needs. Custom Software does not authorise or license any of these products for your use.

How can I change the line colour and make the parcels transparent?

Select Google off the Themes menu. Note: Requires Version 7 QuickMap or better.

How do I paste Google Photos into QuickMap?

In Google, Select Copy Image off the Edit -> Copy menu. Minimise but do not close Google, then in QuickMap, press CTRL/V. Note: Requires version 7 or better. Click here to see this in action.

How do I move QuickMap boundaries to fit better over Google Earth photos?

Sometimes the Quickmap layers do not overlay the Google Earth photo's perfectly. In this case, it is necessary to edit the QuickMap layer within Google Earth to shift it into the correct position.

Version 3

Begin by right mouse clicking on the QuickMap Layer called QuickMap 2 Google Earth listed on the left hand side of Google Earth, and choose Edit off the menu.

Adjust the transparency using the scrollbar shown as 1 in the diagram, then move the Quickmap layer by clicking and dragging with your left mouse on the green cross marked as 2 in the diagram. When you are happy with the position, click the OK button. You can also rotate or resize the image by dragging the green crosses at the edge of the image, but this is not normally necessary.
