QuickMap Online Newsletter December 2011
This newsletter marks the end of a very busy and unpredictable 2011, ranging from the catastrophic Christchurch earthquakes to the securing of the Rugby World Cup, Government elections and the mixed effect these, and the international economic crisis, have had on NZ and the property sector in particular. We are very pleased to see you, our clients, managing to survive and in many cases, diversify and flourish in difficult circumstances. We are often hearing how QuickMap is assisting you to take business opportunities to a successful outcome. This was evidenced during our attendance at the recent Surveying & Spatial Sciences Conference. Read more about this below.
Over the last couple of weeks we have moved into QuickMap House, Unit 12, 16 Centennial Highway, Ngauranga Gorge, Wellington. In the new year we plan to set up a Board room and some training facilities, so watch this space!! If any of you are ever in the vicinity, pop in and experience some QuickMap hospitality.

Have you had problems getting through to our 0800 number?
We have finally managed to narrow down the problem. If your service provider is Telstra AND you phone our 0800 number, you will not get through. Any other provider is fine and any other number is fine. That means you will have to ring us on 04 8315100 if your service provider is Telstra, or email support@quickmap.co.nz until we get this problem fixed. If you are not using Telstra, then you will not notice any problem.
This is surprisingly easy to setup. Here is how you do it;
- Buy Jump desktop from the app store on your iPad or iPhone...oh...you may need to by the iPad first.
- Create a gmail account for yourself at www.gmail.com if you don't already have one for step 3 below.
- Download Jump Desktop from http://jumpdesktop.com/free-remote-desktop and follow the instructions to install it on your PC.
It takes about 5 minutes to setup, and gives you remote access to your windows PC from your iPad. iPads are fun, so if you don't have one yet, why not shout yourself one for Christmas. You will more than get your money back on it with efficiency gained by being able to access everything back at the office while you are on the move. Jump Desktop also has a version that works well on an Android phone.
