Select File->New Layer off the menu, and the following form will appear:
Completing Steps 1 to 3 in the above form will create a new layer in QuickMap.
To create a layer which is able to support images, make sure there is a tick in the box "Layer is an Image Layer".
For explanation of the options under Step 1 seeCreate modify, delete your own layers.
