The Find Window is set to display automatically when QuickMap opens as it allows you to find one or more properties using a number of different possible search methods such as Address, Owner, Legal Description, Place Name and more.

NOTE:  To turn this automatic option off  tick the option at the bottom left of the Find Window.

To begin a new search, select the FIND icon off the Toolbar,  Find Find off the main menu or (Ctrl+F).

You can change which type of item you are searching by clicking on one of the tabs across the top of the form.  If more than one Island is installed, you can change which Island you are searching on by clicking on the North or South radio button at the bottom of the form.

To Search for an item, type your search criteria into the bar at the top of the form.  What you have typed so far is automatically matched against the QuickMap database, and the nearest match is displayed in the Listbox.  The item highlighted in the Listbox will be used for searching the QuickMap database when you press the Enter key, or click the Find button.  If the item does not appear in the Listbox, then it does not exist on the map.

The Address search also allows you to set what to do with the house number when it is missing.

Search

Use Nearest House Number will automatically find the nearest number to the one you typed when your house number is not found in the QuickMap database. For example, if you type house number 23a but only 23 exists, it will default to house number 23.
Prompt for Nearest house Number will display a list of possible house numbers if it cannot find the house number you entered.
Select Entire Road will highlight the entire road when the house number cannot be found.
