QuickMap Server Install (Version 6.1 or greater)
To Install QuickMap using install setup (V 6.1 or greater), run setup.exe off disk 1, and select the Typical option. Then run setup.exe off disk 2. § If you are installing QuickMap onto Windows NT, 2000 or XP, then it is important you log on as administrator to ensure you have enough privileges to install the software. § Close all open programs, including any anti-virus software, so that only Windows is running. § There are two disks per Island labelled Disk 1 and Disk 2. Place the CD-ROM labelled Disk 1 into your computer’s CD-ROM drive.
Run the program setup.exe on the CD-ROM. This can be achieved by either double clicking on setup.exe using Windows explorer OR by clicking the Start button at the bottom of the screen, and then clicking run and typing: drive letter:\setup.exe and then OK. For example, if the setup disk is drive d, type d:\setup.exe. This will start the Setup Wizard.
Answer setup questions as prompted, choosing the TYPICAL install option for the Server.

Select the Everyone option. The install process will now copy folders and files to the destination location.
· If this is the first time QuickMap has been installed on this computer, you will also be asked to reboot your computer at the end of the installation of Disk 1. This is to ensure the QuickMap font is registered to enable you to read the program accurately. · If you wish to install the Property Information (e.g. Appellation, Survey Plan, Title and Owner) insert Disk 2 and run Setup.exe.

If you have both Islands (4 Disks in total)
then it does not matter which Island you start with, as long as you install Disk
1 followed by Disk 2 for each Island in turn. Client
Install To install PCs so that they use the data (map) stored on the server rather than copy them to your PC, perform the following steps: · Map the server network drive containing QuickMap from the client PC that you want to install e.g. \\MyServer\\QmapShare · Run Setup.exe from the Qmap folder on the server and choose the MINIMAL install option when prompted. This will install around 20Mb of software on the PC, and the data will remain on the server. Note: Setup is run off the server, NOT off the CD-ROM. · Run QuickMap on the PC and if QuickMap asks you to register, then use the QuickMap registration key provided to register the software. Each client must register. Registration can also be accessed from the Help Menu within QuickMap. · When you start QuickMap a dialog box may appear saying newer software has been found and gives you the option to update to the newer version. You should normally answer “Yes” to this question.
