QuickMap®
Version 7 |
|
|
QuickMap® Version 7 released 10 Mar 08
runs on Windows 2000, XP, Server 2003, Vista and Server
2008. Windows 95, 98 and Millenium are not supported under
this release.
Heres what's new in version 7;

Adding your own Aerial Photos or Images is now easy |

|
To paste a photo from GoogleEarth into QuickMap, select Edit->Copy
Image off the menu in GoogleEarth, then in QuickMap press CTRL/V. QuickMap is able to automatically place the
Google Earth
photo in the correct location. Click here
for a walkthrough. Of course QuickMap does
not license the use of Google Earth, so you need to make
sure your Google license agreement allows this.
If you paste an image into QuickMap with no
associated georeference data such as a Survey Plan or
House Photo, QuickMap provides easy-to-use tools to
move, resize or rotate the image into the correct
location.
If you have a number of ecw images, you can simply drag
and drop them all into QuickMap. If the images
are in some other format such as jpg or tiff, you
can convert them first using a number of free
translators such as those available from ERMapper. |

New Symbology |
|
Colour in your
parcels using a wide range of patterns, or create your
own bitmap pattern. This feature and many others are now
available in the Symbology Editor. We used this
functionality to improve the look of the vegetation
layer of the default theme, as
shown in the example. To use this enhancement, select
the feature you want to change using the Info Tool, then
press the F9 key to bring up the Symbology Editor. You can also associate
icons, jpegs or other images with point features. This could be anything from a picture
of your house to a symbol you have created yourself - such as
the paper pinned to the map in the above example, or the
house photo. |
Legends
and Layouts |
|

|
Personalise your
printouts by adding your own logo, legend or image to
the map.
Choose Printer Setup off the File menu, and then
click the images button to add up to 8 images to the
printout.
In this example, we added a legend to the top left,
our logo on the bottom left, and some text to the top
right.

Themes |
 |
With Themes, you
can quickly change how the entire map looks. We have
created one theme for you already called Google for use
with Google Earth or Air Photos. To change themes or
create a new one, click on the Themes menu.
