Quickmap System Requirements

As Quickmap’s software is enhanced and new data is added each month, system requirements may differ from those listed below. Use these as a rough guide. For specific concerns, please contact us.

Quickmap Version 8 System Requirements

Quickmap v8 uses .NET 4.6.1, which is installed during Quickmap setup if not already present.

Operating Systems Supported

  • Windows 11, 10, 8.1, 8, 7 (64-bit only). Quickmap runs on x32, but x64 is strongly recommended for memory-intensive features. Note: Windows 7 32-bit is no longer supported as it does not support .NET 4.6.1 or above.
  • Windows Server 2019, 2016, 2012, 2012 R2, 2008 R2 SP1

CPU

Quickmap runs on all CPUs, but a 64-bit OS is recommended for access to sufficient memory. Older CPUs may run slower.

Memory

Minimum 4GB RAM recommended; more is suggested for memory-intensive features like high-resolution aerial photography.

Hard Disk

  • 4GB per Island
  • 2GB for SalesView (optional)
  • 1.5TB for North Island Aerial Photography (optional)
  • 1TB for South Island Aerial Photography (optional)
  • 4.5GB Survey View (optional; free survey plans require no additional disk space)
Note: Each PC requires 5 GB if data is stored on a central server.
Do not store Quickmap data on synchronized drives (e.g., OneDrive).
Storing data geographically separate from the client (WAN) may reduce performance.
Optional expansion packs are delivered on USB; a USB port is required to use or copy the data. Running expansion packs directly from the USB without a backup is not recommended. We cannot reinstall lost data.

Display

Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher. Recommended: High Colour (16-bit), 1024 × 768 resolution or better.

Peripherals

Microsoft Mouse, Microsoft IntelliMouse, or compatible pointing device.

Quickmap Version 7 System Requirements

Operating Systems

  • Windows NT, XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10 (Requires Quickmap v6.3.89 or better)
  • Apple Mac OS X: 10.6–10.11 (Snow Leopard to El Capitan)
  • Windows Server 2000, 2003, 2003 R2, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2 (Requires Quickmap v6.3.89 or better), Windows Server 2016

CPU

Pentium 133 MHz or higher; x64 processors supported by Quickmap v6.3.89+

Hard Disk

  • 4GB per Island
  • 2GB for SalesView (optional)
  • 150GB South Island Survey Plans (optional)
  • 300GB North Island Survey Plans (optional)
  • 1TB NZ Aerial Photography per Island (optional)
  • 4.5GB Survey View (optional)
Note: Each PC requires 60MB if data is stored on a central server.
Optional expansion packs require a USB port and should not be run directly from USB without a backup. We cannot reinstall lost data.
CD-ROM or USB media may be copied from another PC or shared network drive.

Display
